Go Green With Your Spring Cleaning

It’s that time of year again to go through our homes, clean out the cobwebs, and freshen up things for spring. I don’t know about you, but this has never been one of my favorite tasks! Nonetheless it needs to be done, so, what better time could there be to start introducing some green cleaning and de-cluttering ideas into our homes? Moreover, why not have some company along the way?

Here are some of my favorite sites and blogs that are taking on this challenge throughout the month of March and the rest of the year:

FlyLady.net– It can’t get more simple than FlyLady! She walks you through de-cluttering and cleaning your home with baby steps that make even the most seemingly insurmountable of tasks incredibly manageable! Plus she offers a lot of great reusable cleaning products on her site along with her constant encouragement!

Green Clean WeekKatydid and Kid– This week, March 1-7, Katydid and Kid is featuring tips and tricks to eco-friendly spring cleaning, along with some green giveaways. Join in to help brighten up your green spring cleaning, and make it a little more fun!

Healthy Cleaning, Spring Cleaning— Mommy Mandy, Mommy Goggles and Rockin’ Mama are featuring green spring cleaning tips and giveaways all month long. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn some great, new green ideas and win some stuff along the way!

Mothering Dot Community– Join moms on this forum, specifically in the De-cluttering, Organizing and Simplifying Forum under Mindful Home Management, to get inspiration and be challenged to not only clean green, but to simplify your home for an all-around more peaceful space to live in. These ladies have great ideas, and it’s wonderful encouragement to share this process with so many other women!

So break out your mops and feather dusters and prepare to take on your home, one green spring cleaning task at a time!

I am a big fan of this blog! I wish everyone would try just a little bit harder to “Go Green.” My online printing company is now implementing environmentally friendly printing techniques as well as recycled paper. You can check it out at BluegrassPrint.com.

I decided to go green in both my business and home about a year ago. At first I was very excited about how much money I was saving. I must admit though, at times for extreme cleaning cases (oil based paints, kool aid stains, etc.) I have to resort to using my old traditional cleaners in my business. Other than that I only use natural stuff. Should I feel guilty?
